Information regarding the New York State
Firefighters' Memorial WebSite:

with poetry, music, photos, guestbook, links, and more....

Having been a volunteer fireman in New York State for 35 years. I know that every firefighter, whether career or volunteer, becomes a hero the moment he wakes up in the middle of the night to answer his neighbors' call for help. However, those firefighters, men & women who made the ultimate sacrifice, who gave their lives to save the life or property of another, deserve our very special recognition. This website is my gift to them, to their families, and to their fire companies. May they never be forgotten.

This memorial is a work in progress. Inscribed here are the names, departments, and counties of New York firefighters who have died in the line of duty. The memorial begins in the current year, and each name is listed aphabetically for that year. As time permits, the list will be extended to earlier years.

The 2300 names engraved on the Fallen Firefighters' Memorial Wall at Albany, NY, represents the complete, offical list of names. If you are a family member or descendent of one of these persons, you may request that his name be added to my memorial list. Please make your request in writing to me at the address below.
